Q&A with Stacey Finnegan, Owner of MINQ

Stacey Finnegan, owner of MINQ Boutique, is both a style maven and an organizational guru.
Stacey Finnegan has just opened another MINQ location in Edina.

Entrepreneur Stacey Finnegan knows business. And fashion. The owner of MINQ Boutique in the Shops at West End is not only a style maven, but an organizational development guru, too; she’s an owner and consultant at Finnegan Consulting Partners. And, for the past 20 years, Finnegan has been proud to call St. Louis Park home off and on. “It’s always good to come back to friendly people,” she says.
MINQ is the spot to find the latest trends and classic go-to pieces in the metro and was recently named best new upscale clothing boutique in Minnesota in CBS/WCCO’s Best of 2013 contest.
So, what are some of those trends this spring? Maxi dresses are must-have again, and “lots of colors—bright oranges, fuchsia,” says Finnegan.  Finnegan, who has spent time in Rome, would love to see European menswear come to the Midwest. In southern states, she says, the men dress up more to go out, which Finnegan would also like to see this happen here (c’mon guys!) But while the men work on their style chops, Finnegan, a fan of designers Hale Bob and Petit Pois herself, could do without any more peplum tops and dresses on the women’s side. “It’s run its course,” she says.
