We tracked down four foodie influencers in the City South area for a Q+A that will have you craving all things food. Below is our interview with Christina Stevens. Read the others here: Elle Yorobe, Shawn Rodgers and Sidney Schultz.
How did you start your foodie journey?
Family events for me have always had food as a center point, which served to fuel my love of food, trying new restaurants, experimenting in the kitchen and ultimately my “foodie journey.”
What do you do when you’re not posting on Instagram?
I work in the financial services industry as an attorney. Travel is a passion of mine and I’m always planning another adventure. Also I had a baby on December 8th so my husband and I are adjusting to life as new parents.
Which food personality do you most admire?
Like for many others, Anthony Bourdain was a chef/TV personality I truly admired. In fact he and his show were a big part of inspiring me to travel to Vietnam.
How many cookbooks do you own?
It’s actually a little embarrassing how many cookbooks we own. I’ve lost count and you can find them in a bedside table, a bookcase and many other locations around the house.
Favorite thing to cook?
My favorite thing to cook is anything Italian. Come on over for Sunday sauce or Bolognese; it’ll be cooking away all day!
What are your guilty food pleasures?
A guilty pleasure meal for me is actually McDonald’s. Every once in a while I just have to have it! That and Kraft mac n cheese.
What has been the greatest meal of your life?
The greatest meal of my life was in Paris, celebrating my 31st birthday. It was a lunch at Septime, a Michelin star restaurant. The food courses, the service and attention to detail were all impeccably beautiful. It was an extravagant meal but an experience I’ll always remember.
Favorite restaurant in City South?
Such a tough question! It’s a struggle to pick between St. Genevieve, Red Wagon Pizza Company, Tilia and Martina.
