The World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Parades are always fun, but sometimes it feels like you have to set aside an entire day to attend. Not today. The “world’s shortest parade” begins at the Hopkins Elks Lodge and will travel all the way to the American Legion, five blocks (a half-mile) away. Keep an eye out for St. Patrick’s Day buttons, $1 at participating stores along the parade’s path, including Driskill’s and Hopkins Tavern on Main. FARE Walk for Food Allergy, Minneapolis

The Fare Walk for Food Allergy brings together thousands of people seeking a safer world for the 15 million Americans with food allergies. The walk is a family-friendly event that will raise funds for food allergy research, education, advocasy and awareness. This special day in Minneapolis will include fun activities for the entire family. Adult Snowshoeing

You might not consider February in Minnesota a beautiful time of year, but taking a snowshoeing hike through picturesque Westwood Hills Nature Center might just change your mind. A naturalist will guide your group and provide tips on how to use your snowshoes effectively as you explore the woods and marsh. Refreshments will be served afterwards. Westwood Winter Fun Day

The best way to beat the winter blues is to celebrate all the things to do in the ice and snow, and the Westwood Hills Nature Center is hosting a day of fun winter activities. Depending on the weather, you can participate in ice bowling, ice mini-golf, “snow snakes,” kick sleds and more. At the end of the event, warm up at the bonfire and enjoy some hot chocolate.
