Join Delmonico Dance, local law enforcement, first responders and Operation Kidsafe for a free child safety fair. There will be an ice cream truck for the kids. Parents will receive a lifetime record of their child's digital fingerprints and a form that is ready to hand to law enforcement in an emergency, as well as valuable safety tips. Touted as “the largest jazz event in the Twin Cities,” The Twin Cities Jazz Festival is back for its 16th year. With approximately 90 percent of the artists hailing from Minnesota, the event celebrates local music and talent. The Jazz Festival will take place in the heart of St. Paul at Mears Park, with food and beverage vendors lining the streets. Free. “Splash into Summer” with four days of fun at St. Louis Park’s Parktacular celebration. The activities include family fishing, water slides, live music and a food garden. This marks the first year that the Rock the Block party on Friday night will have free admission. The Grand Day Parade is the main event on Saturday and will be followed by “Kidtacular” activities that include a petting zoo and pony rides. Saturday will also feature a free concert with Beatles tribute band Rubber Soul. Free kayak and canoe rides will be available, as well as other fun activities. Most events are free. This year the DNR is celebrating Arbor Day and Arbor Month by encouraging families to play in natural settings such as your backyard, a nearby woodlot, or forested area.
The 2014 State Arbor Month Celebration will be at Oak Hill Park in St. Louis Park. The event will give families a chance to play with nature, while watching some of the best tree climbers in the state compete at the Minnesota Tree Climbing Championship.

More than 100 art and craft vendors, food vendors and kids’ activity stands are on to celebrate Hopkins’ Mainstreet Days. The Hopkins Center for the Arts partners with Friends of the Hennepin County Library to present the final author in their 2013-14 Pen Pals series.
