Solo performances by Laryssa Husiak, Mitsu Salmon and Christine Shallenberg

Triple Heartbeat is an evening of three solo interdisciplinary performance works exploring themes of nature, ritual, and family. The works blend storytelling, dance, text, and voice and are shared as an exchange between Chicago and Minneapolis. The three artists - Laryssa Husiak, Christine Shallenberg, and Mitsu Salmon - have known each other for nearly half their lives but this is the first time they are all performing together in an event. Story Club Minneapolis

Story Club Minneapolis is a live monthly storytelling show featuring both an open mic segment and a curated set of performers from all over the Twin Cities arts scene and beyond. Sarah Sherman, AKA Sarah Squirm, continues her “never-ending mission to find and celebrate the beauty of the grotesque and weird” (Vulture). Twin Cities Film Festival

Celebrating its 10th year, the Twin Cities Film Fest highlights the talents of independent filmmakers in Minnesota. The festival includes the Changemaker Series, which this year focuses on environmental responsibility. Walk the red carpet and view over 100 films from shorts to feature films. An Operetta in the Park

Looking for a unique way to spend a fall afternoon? Mixed Precipitation presents The Clemency of Tito’s Records: A Picnic Operetta. The production will include classical music arias from Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito, satire, food and new-wave and synth-pop music. Mixed Precipitation promises “backstabbing, bitterness and a murderous revenge plot.” With this mix of métiers, there should be something to please everyone in this edible opera. Theaster Gates at the Walker Art Center

Artist Theaster Gates is taking over the Walker’s galleries for an immersive artistic experience. Originally trained in ceramics, Gates has expanded his practice to include performance, installation and archival conservation. He is best known for his 2009 project Dorchester Project in Chicago, which recycled a two-story property on the South Side, turning it into a performance space, library and archive. All ages.
