Nonprofit organization Love Conquers Violence hosted the annual Bags for Nat gathering to raise awareness and funds to prevent domestic violence. The Beissel family is committed to the important cause in remembrance and honor of their loved one, Natalie.

Cartoonist, illustrator and Minneapolis resident Alana Hawley started pysanky (egg decorating) when she was in high school. What began as an Easter tradition in her family quickly became a hobby for Hawley.

What do you like best about your school?

Mirah Ammal, artistic director and founder of Al-Bahira Dance Theater and the Aalim School of Dance, takes a fresh approach to teaching dance. “My degrees are history and journalism—so of course, I’m a dancer.

High school is often seen as a time to explore new things, a place where young adults can learn about who they are. Benilde-St. Margaret’s High School senior Amelia Backes has done that and more, from swimming to RoboCup to jazz band.
